本州(神奈川県)、伊豆諸島及び琉球列島から記録されており、関東以南に広く分布していると思われる。枯れ葉や枯れ枝に生息する。本属は第8腹節背板に2対の留翅刺毛を持つことで近縁の属と区別できる。食菌性。

This species has been recorded from Honshu (Kanagawa Pref.), the Izu Islands and the Ryukyu Islands, and is likely widely distributed south of the Kanto region. It inhabits dead leaves and branches. This genus can be distinguished from closely related genera by the presence of two pairs of wing-retaining setae on the abdominal tergite VIII. Fungus-feeder.
